We're taking over Tandem this Friday! Come party at the bar that L Magazine called the "Best Spot to Both Dance and Eat Mac and Cheese" The room has a fantastic sound system and a unique vibe, and it's going to be a great evening.
We have an awesome group of DJs spinning records for your listening & dancing pleasure:
I just discovered a great new resource for hard to find records. It's Downtown 304! They have a good website, and you can order online & pickup directly from their office! Plus it's 6 blocks from my office! I just picked up Juan MacLeans "Happy House", Chaka Khan's "I Know You, I Live You", and a remix of Chicago's "Street Player" (all three of which which I slept on and then couldn't find). Most record stores I know of in NYC don't let you do that, they just stock a few copies of a record in their storefront and they sell out quickly.
I will definitely keep Turntable Lab as my main provider, but use this when I can't find something there. Turntable Lab excels in great reviews & recommendations of new records, and personalized service at the store. That's where Downtown 304 can't compete.
DJ Lupo from Germany & DJ Orion from Tucson are teaming up to bring Park Slope a night of Daft Punk & other great dance music at the one & only Royale!
After the success of Daft Club at Royal Oak in Williamsburg, Orion decided that Park Slope could use a fun new dance party too. Expect to hear everything from Cut Copy to Coolio, MGMT to MJ (R.I.P.), Kano to Kanye, and of course lots of Daft Punk! Check out the pics from previous nights to see just how crazy it can get!
